Clairemont began in 1950 as San Diego's largest post-war subdivision. It was laid out with winding streets and view lots along the canyons instead of a grid. Its neighborhoods are North Clairemont, Clairemont Mesa East and West, Bay Park and Bay Ho, framed by I-5, I-805 and SR-52.
