Hayward has two BART stations (Hayward and South Hayward), a Capitol Corridor Amtrak stop, I-880, I-580 and SR-92 to the San Mateo Bridge. Capitol Corridor's South Bay Connect plan would drop the Hayward Amtrak stop. If the Bay Area transit tax fails on November 3, 2026, BART's contingency plan would close South Hayward and Castro Valley stations in January 2027.
